I took to Austin’s Whiskey Shivers the moment I saw their inventive and hilarious video for Gimme All Your Lovin’, a song from their 2011 album Batholith. Of course the the skillfully frenetic, bluegrass-inspired spirit of the tune got my attention as well.
Their latest video, directed by John Valley, is for the song Jealous Heart, from last year’s Rampa Head. It’s a lot less hilarious. In fact it’s downright downcast! The fiddle and banjo lament sets the tone as we follow our protagonist from obsession to drink on toward a dark and mortal end.
